Lutron, Current powered by GE, and Beco Are Announced as Initial Partners in Works with Comfy Ecosystem

Feb. 27, 2018

OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA - (February 27, 2018) - Comfy, a leading workplace app provider, announced today that Lutron and Current powered by GE, leaders in wireless lighting control, and real-time indoor positioning provider Beco are partners in the new Works with Comfy ecosystem. The participation of these industry leaders in connected lighting, occupancy sensing, and indoor positioning builds on Comfy's unique ability to integrate across various building systems to create a unified workplace experience and deliver better data for building and space management. Best known for delivering personalized temperature control, Comfy recently expanded to offer features such as Lighting, Room Booking, and Work Requests.

"At Comfy, we’re doing something new. We’re connecting employees to their building systems so that they can control their physical space—and we’re not just connecting them to one system, we’re connecting them to multiple systems that historically have not played well together," said Stephen Dawson-Haggerty, Co-founder and CTO of Comfy. "The Works with Comfy partner ecosystem is a critical part of meeting our company's mission to create workplaces that enable everyone to do their best work and empowering the people who manage buildings with the data they need."

Corporate real estate portfolios typically consist of buildings that vary in age, technical sophistication, and available building management resources, making it difficult for real estate and facilities teams to manage the inevitably diverse range of systems and data, let alone deploy cohesive solutions portfolio-wide. By working closely with partners across physical and digital systems, Works with Comfy enables Comfy customers to ease implementation costs, minimize risk, and quickly scale user adoption.

"Lutron is committed to helping create the right environment for all our customers. For some time now we have been working with Comfy to ensure technical compatibility and seamless integration with our Quantum total light management systems. We see great value in Comfy’s ability to connect building occupants directly with lighting control," said Scott Hanna, Vice President of Commercial Systems and Communications. “Lutron’s alliance with the Works with Comfy program exemplifies leadership in the smart buildings industry and strengthens our ability to create seamless experiences for our customers around the world.”

The Comfy app pulls in occupancy data from Current's intelligent environments platform and Daintree controls to enhance the overall workplace experience and deliver insights for better workplace strategy. “Partnerships like Works with Comfy enable our customers to make smarter data-driven decisions about their real estate needs," said Garrett Miller, Chief Digital Officer at Current. “We see value in the confluence of our building infrastructure data with Comfy's people-centric applications to build intelligent environments."

Works with Comfy will simplify two of the most pressing challenges currently facing workplace teams: too many systems and too much disparate data. "In my experience building and designing corporate campuses, I have evaluated a lot of workplace solutions that solve for specific pain points, but very few take an approach as holistic and ambitious as Comfy's," said corporate real estate executive Dan Hoffman. "I have no doubt that the Works with Comfy ecosystem will make life easier for corporate real estate executives."

The Works with Comfy ecosystem includes additional workplace solutions providers, such as CoWorkr, Density, Adappt, and more. For more information about Works with Comfy, please visit works-with-comfy.
